Digit Filters Even Odd Boxed Pick 4 The Even Odd Boxed (P34ID:EO-BOX) is a so called "digit filter". A digit filter divides each digit into options. The Even Odd filter has the following options:
Even Odd = Digits E = 0 2 4 6 8 O = 1 3 5 7 9
The addition "Boxed" (BOX) refers to the fact that in this case the position within the result is of no interest. So the filter string is always sorted in ascending order.
To show you how to find the Even Odd filter for a Pick 4 number here an example step by step.
Pick 4 Even Odd Conversion Step 1: Divide the 8500 into separate digits: 8500 => 8 5 0 0 Step 2: Convert each digit to filter: 8 = E 5 = O 0 = E 0 = E Step 3: Sort the filters in ascending order: E O E E => E E E O Step 4: Combine the filters to a string: E E E O = EEEO
Even Odd (EO) together with High Low (HL) are the most basic digit filters in use. Even and odd digits are easy to identify, same as high (5-9) and low (0-4) digits. As most of the filtering in the past was done using pencil and paper, these simple filters were the first to be used. They did not need any kind of calculation, everyone can distinguish a high from a low digit as well as even one from an odd one. |
