Combined Filters VZero Alt Sums Pairs The VZero Alt Sums (VTZ-AS) is a so called "combined filter", a combination of a digit and a math filter. It requires two separate parts to create the filter.
VZero (VTZ) is a different representation of the VTracs (VTX) concept with the difference that the digits start with 0 rather than 1. That simplifies the conversion drastically as the first five digits (0, 1, 2, 3 and 4) are the same in both number and VZero conversion. The Alt Sums filter is a so called "math filter". Math filters are created through calculations. In this case starting with the highest digit of the number the digits are alternately subtracted and added to create the Alt Sums between 0 and 9. To show you how to calculate the VZero Alt Sums filter for a Pick 2 number here an example step by step.
Part I: Pairs VZero Alt Sums Conversion Step 1: Divide 44 into separate digits: 44 => 4 4 Step 2: Convert each digit to filter: 4 = 4 4 = 4 Step 3: Combine the filters to a string: 4 4 = 44
Part II: Pairs VZero Alt Sums Conversion Step 1: Divide the 44 into separate digits: 44 => 4 4 Step 2: Sort the digits from highest to lowest: 4 4 => 4 4 Step 3: Subtract and add the digits alternately: 4 - 4 = 0
