Combined Filters Neighbors Front Sums Pick 5 The Neighbors Front Sums (NB-FS) is a so called "combined filter", a combination of a digit and a math filter. It requires two separate parts to create the filter.
Neighbors (NB) is yet another alternative to the old VTracs (VTX). Instead of combining digits by adding 5 it selects the all even digits with the next odd digit up, 0 with 1, 2 with 3 all the way to 8 with 9. It is another efficient way to combine an odd with an even digit. The Front Sums filter is a so called "math filter". Math filters are created through calculations. You get the sum of a number by adding up the digits within that number. The pick 5 is the first digit of that sum. If the sum is only one digit the Front Sums filter returns 0. To show you how to calculate the Neighbors Front Sums filter for a Pick 5 number here an example step by step.
Part I: Pick 5 Neighbors Front Sums Conversion Step 1: Divide 25249 into separate digits: 25249 => 2 5 2 4 9 Step 2: Convert each digit to filter: 2 = 2 5 = 3 2 = 2 4 = 3 9 = 5 Step 3: Combine the filters to a string: 2 3 2 3 5 = 23235
Part II: Pick 5 Neighbors Front Sums Conversion Step 1: Divide the number into separate digits: 23235 => 2 3 2 3 5 Step 2: Add up the digits: 2 + 3 + 2 + 3 + 5 = 15 Step 3: Select only the first digit (or use 0 if there is none): 15 = 1
