Digit Filters VTracs Boxed Pick 2 The VTracs Boxed (P34ID:ATX-BOX) is a so called "digit filter". A digit filter divides each digit into options. The VTracs filter has the following options:
VTracs = Digits 1 = 0 5 2 = 1 6 3 = 2 7 4 = 3 8 5 = 4 9
The addition "Boxed" (BOX) refers to the fact that in this case the position within the result is of no interest. So the filter string is always sorted in ascending order.
To show you how to find the VTracs filter for a Pick 2 number here an example step by step.
Pick 2 VTracs Conversion Step 1: Divide the 68 into separate digits: 68 => 6 8 Step 2: Convert each digit to filter: 6 = 2 8 = 4 Step 3: Sort the filters in ascending order: 2 4 => 2 4 Step 4: Combine the filters to a string: 2 4 = 24
The original idea of the VTracs (VTX), standing for variable tracs, was to take the daily lottery and to reduce the number of digits from 10 digits (0 to 9) to 5 digits (1 to 5). The reduction was supposed to simplify the tracking of 1000 Pick 3 numbers to 125 VTracs numbers. In between the VTracs concept was watered down by combining pretty every available filter with VTracs, while originally the idea was to improve the selection of straight numbers. |
