Combined Filters VZero Distances Pick 5 The VZero Distances (VTZ-DST) is a so called "combined filter", a combination of a digit and a math filter. It requires two separate parts to create the filter.
VZero (VTZ) is a different representation of the VTracs (VTX) concept with the difference that the digits start with 0 rather than 1. That simplifies the conversion drastically as the first five digits (0, 1, 2, 3 and 4) are the same in both number and VZero conversion.
To show you how to calculate the VZero Distances filter for a Pick 5 number here an example step by step.
Part I: Pick 5 VZero Distances Conversion Step 1: Divide 52896 into separate digits: 52896 => 5 2 8 9 6 Step 2: Convert each digit to filter: 5 = 0 2 = 2 8 = 3 9 = 4 6 = 1 Step 3: Combine the filters to a string: 0 2 3 4 1 = 02341
Part II: Pick 5 VZero Distances Conversion Step 1: Divide the number into separate digits: 02341 => 0 2 3 4 1 Step 2: Calculate the distance between each digit and the next (the last digit with the first): 0 to 2 = 2 2 to 3 = 1 3 to 4 = 1 4 to 1 = 3 1 to 0 = 1 Step 3: Combine the filters to a string: 2 1 1 3 1 = 21131
