Combined Filters Neighbors Root Sums Pick 3 The Neighbors Root Sums (NB-RS) is a so called "combined filter", a combination of a digit and a math filter. It requires two separate parts to create the filter.
Neighbors (NB) is yet another alternative to the old VTracs (VTX). Instead of combining digits by adding 5 it selects the all even digits with the next odd digit up, 0 with 1, 2 with 3 all the way to 8 with 9. It is another efficient way to combine an odd with an even digit. The Root Sums filter is a so called "math filter". Math filters are created through calculations. You get the root sum of a number by first adding up the digits within that number and then adding up the digits of each sum continuously until only one digit is left. To show you how to calculate the Neighbors Root Sums filter for a Pick 3 number here an example step by step.
Part I: Pick 3 Neighbors Root Sums Conversion Step 1: Divide 156 into separate digits: 156 => 1 5 6 Step 2: Convert each digit to filter: 1 = 1 5 = 3 6 = 4 Step 3: Combine the filters to a string: 1 3 4 = 134
Part II: Pick 3 Neighbors Root Sums Conversion Step 1: Divide 134 into separate digits: 134 => 1 3 4 Step 2: Add up the digits: 1 + 3 + 4 = 8
