Combined Filters Neighbors Line Width Pick 4 The Neighbors Line Width (NB-LW) is a so called "combined filter", a combination of a digit and a math filter. It requires two separate parts to create the filter.
Neighbors (NB) is yet another alternative to the old VTracs (VTX). Instead of combining digits by adding 5 it selects the all even digits with the next odd digit up, 0 with 1, 2 with 3 all the way to 8 with 9. It is another efficient way to combine an odd with an even digit. The Line Width is a so called "math filter". Math filters are created through calculations. The Line Width is the difference between the highest and the lowest digit of a number. To show you how to calculate the Neighbors Line Width filter for a Pick 4 number here an example step by step.
Part I: Pick 4 Neighbors Line Width Conversion Step 1: Divide 1064 into separate digits: 1064 => 1 0 6 4 Step 2: Convert each digit to filter: 1 = 1 0 = 1 6 = 4 4 = 3 Step 3: Combine the filters to a string: 1 1 4 3 = 1143
Part II: Pick 4 Neighbors Line Width Conversion Step 1: Divide the 1143 into separate digits: 1143 => 1 1 4 3 Step 2: Find the highest digit: 1 1 4 3 => 4 Step 3: Find the lowest digit: 4 3 1 1 => 1 Step 4: Subtract the lowest digit from the highest: 4 - 1 = 3
