Combined Filters Neighbors Distances Pick 4 The Neighbors Distances (NB-DST) is a so called "combined filter", a combination of a digit and a math filter. It requires two separate parts to create the filter.
Neighbors (NB) is yet another alternative to the old VTracs (VTX). Instead of combining digits by adding 5 it selects the all even digits with the next odd digit up, 0 with 1, 2 with 3 all the way to 8 with 9. It is another efficient way to combine an odd with an even digit.
To show you how to calculate the Neighbors Distances filter for a Pick 4 number here an example step by step.
Part I: Pick 4 Neighbors Distances Conversion Step 1: Divide 7579 into separate digits: 7579 => 7 5 7 9 Step 2: Convert each digit to filter: 7 = 4 5 = 3 7 = 4 9 = 5 Step 3: Combine the filters to a string: 4 3 4 5 = 4345
Part II: Pick 4 Neighbors Distances Conversion Step 1: Divide the number into separate digits: 4345 => 4 3 4 5 Step 2: Calculate the distance between each digit and the next (the last digit with the first): 4 to 3 = 1 3 to 4 = 1 4 to 5 = 1 5 to 4 = 1 Step 3: Combine the filters to a string: 1 1 1 1 = 1111
